Gear Ratio Calculator
Effective date: October 9, 2026
1. Scope and contact
This policy covers Gear Ratio Calculator, an iPhone and iPad utility provided under the Set In Stone brand. The app provider is identified on its App Store listing. Contact [email protected] with “Gear Ratio Calculator privacy” in the subject for questions or requests.
Local calculator information is separate from purchases handled by Apple, information you voluntarily send to support, and requests made when visiting this website.
2. Calculator information and local storage
Calculations run on your device. The app processes the tooth counts, RPM, gear ratios, final drive, tire measurements, speed, unit selections, and solver constraints you enter. Pro users can save named setups and a lightweight history of the latest 20 successful calculations. Saved entries contain the calculation mode, inputs, units, identifiers, and timestamps needed to reopen them.
Saved setups and history are stored in a local app file. Appearance, preferred units, and onboarding completion are stored in local preferences. The app does not require an account or send this information to a developer-operated server. It has no app-managed cloud synchronization. Onboarding choices are held for the onboarding flow; only completion is persisted.
3. Apple purchases
Apple handles the optional Lifetime Pro purchase and payment. The app uses native StoreKit to load product information, complete purchases, check verified entitlements, respond to purchase updates, and restore access. Limited transaction information includes the product identifier and whether the entitlement is valid or revoked.
Set In Stone does not receive your full payment-card details and does not operate a separate receipt or purchase-history server for this app. Apple processes Apple Account, payment, transaction, device, and related information under its own terms and privacy policy. Purchase and restore operations may communicate with Apple even though calculations work offline.
4. Support and website visits
Report App Issue opens your email app with an app-specific subject. It does not automatically upload your saved setups or attach calculator inputs. If you send email, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to include. Share only information needed to explain your request.
This static website is hosted by Cloudflare. Delivering and protecting these pages may involve your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and operational or security logs. Opening a website link is separate from local calculation processing. The audited app contains no advertising, analytics, third-party crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs.
5. Purposes and legal bases
Local information provides the calculation and library features you request. Apple transaction information verifies paid access. Support information is used to answer questions, investigate issues, and handle related requests or disputes. Website information supports page delivery and security.
Where an applicable privacy law requires a legal basis, processing necessary to provide requested services or purchases relies on performance of a contract. Responding to support and securing services may rely on legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. Consent is used where required, and applicable law may require certain records to be retained.
6. Retention, deletion, and backups
Saved setups remain until you delete them or remove the app’s local storage. History keeps up to 20 entries; older entries are replaced as new ones are recorded. You can delete individual history entries or clear history after confirmation. Preferences remain in local app storage. Deleting the app removes its local container; offloading may retain documents.
Device or computer backups may retain copies according to your backup settings, and restoring a backup may restore old entries. We cannot recover your local calculator library from a server. Restore Purchases restores eligible Pro access, not deleted setups or history. Removing local data does not erase purchase records held by Apple.
Support correspondence is retained as reasonably necessary to address your request, follow-up, disputes, and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Apple and Cloudflare determine retention for records they hold under their own policies.
7. Security and international processing
Local storage relies on the operating system’s app sandbox and device security. Protect your device and backups. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed secure; we do not promise custom end-to-end encryption or guaranteed recovery.
The app does not transfer your local calculation library to Set In Stone. Apple purchases, support email, and website hosting may involve processing in countries other than yours. Apple, Cloudflare, and your email provider operate under their own applicable notices and safeguards.
8. Rights and requests
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, restrict, or object to processing of personal information we hold, and to withdraw consent for consent-based processing. You may also have a right to complain to your local privacy regulator. These rights have lawful conditions and exceptions.
Manage local setups and history directly in the app. For information held through support correspondence, email [email protected]; we may need proportionate information to verify a request. We cannot remotely retrieve your local calculator inputs. Apple Account and purchase-record requests should be directed to Apple. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. Children and policy changes
The app does not ask for a child’s identity or operate an account or uploaded-content service. If a child has sent personal information to support and you wish to request removal, contact [email protected].
This policy is effective October 9, 2026. Material changes will be published with a revised date and additional notice or consent where required. Future account, synchronization, advertising, or analytics features would require an updated assessment and notice.
