Terms of Use

Embroidery Journal

Effective date: October 5, 2026

1. Provider, scope, and acceptance

Embroidery Journal is provided under the Set In Stone brand by the app provider identified on its App Store listing. These terms explain the app’s project-journal functions, one-time purchase, content responsibilities, and support arrangements. Contact [email protected] with “Embroidery Journal” in the subject for questions or complaints.

Read these terms before purchasing or using the app. Use is subject to the applicable App Store agreement and Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These app-specific terms supplement that license; they do not replace it with a custom EULA or override mandatory law. Where there is a conflict, mandatory law prevails, followed by the applicable Apple license and purchase rules, then these additional terms.

2. Eligibility and devices

You must be able to enter into an enforceable agreement under the law applicable to you. If you are below the age at which you can do so independently, a parent or legal guardian must authorize your use and any purchase where required. Follow the App Store age rating and Apple Account rules.

The app is designed for supported iPhone and iPad devices and operating systems identified in the App Store listing. Availability and compatibility may change with operating-system requirements. Purchase authorization belongs to Apple’s purchase flow. We do not create an app-provider account or collect an account password.

3. License and permitted use

The app is licensed rather than sold. Your license comes from the applicable Apple Standard EULA and permits use on Apple-branded devices you own or control in accordance with the App Store Usage Rules. Nothing here restricts a use, backup, accessibility measure, or interoperability activity that applicable law or that license expressly permits.

You must not unlawfully copy or distribute the app, remove proprietary notices, bypass purchase verification, interfere with its integrity, or use it to violate another person’s intellectual property or privacy rights. Reverse engineering restrictions are subject to statutory exceptions. These restrictions concern the app’s software; they do not transfer ownership of your embroidery projects to us.

4. Journal features and limits

The app lets you create embroidery project records, add selected photos, maintain notes and project dates, record pattern, designer, fabric, thread and stitch details, mark favorites, and search your projects. Records and imported photos are saved locally on the device. The app does not provide an app-provider account, shared workspace, social feed, CloudKit synchronization, or developer-operated cloud journal.

The journal organizes information you enter. It does not verify the accuracy of pattern instructions, copyright permissions, thread or fabric recommendations, or your project records. Follow the original pattern, product instructions, and appropriate safety practices when using needles, scissors, irons, dyes, or other equipment. The app is not a professional certification or safety system.

5. Weekly subscription and lifetime access

Embroidery Journal offers two plans through Apple StoreKit: a weekly auto-renewing subscription (com.matthaios.embroideryjournal.weekly) and a one-time non-consumable lifetime unlock (com.matthaios.embroideryjournal.lifetime). Both provide access to the journal features. The US base prices are $1.99 per week and $19.99 once. Prices, currencies, and applicable taxes vary by storefront; the App Store confirmation sheet shows the price and purchase conditions before you confirm.

The weekly plan bills your Apple Account when you confirm and renews automatically each week unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple may charge for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends. There is no free trial. Manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account subscriptions. Cancellation stops future renewal and normally leaves access until the paid period expires. Deleting the app or journal data does not cancel a subscription. An expired, refunded, or revoked subscription does not provide access, except for an applicable verified billing grace period.

Lifetime is billed once, with no recurring renewal. Buying lifetime while a weekly subscription is active does not automatically cancel that subscription; cancel it separately in your Apple Account subscriptions if you no longer want it to renew.

“Lifetime access” means access to the features included in that purchased unlock for the supported life of Embroidery Journal, subject to your valid purchase, the applicable license, mandatory consumer rights, and technical compatibility. It does not promise that every future separate app or new paid product is included, perpetual device or operating-system compatibility, or a remote backup service. The label does not permit us to withdraw a purchased entitlement arbitrarily or reduce legally required remedies.

Apple may require a network connection to retrieve products, process a purchase, or verify access. A purchase must complete and be verified before the app can grant paid access. Pending, declined, revoked, or refunded transactions may not grant access. We do not take payment-card information directly.

6. Restore purchases and refunds

Use Restore Purchases on the paywall or in Settings to ask Apple StoreKit to verify an eligible lifetime purchase or active weekly subscription associated with your Apple Account. Use the Apple Account used for the original purchase. Restoration restores an eligible purchase entitlement; it does not restore your project database or photos. We do not promise Family Sharing support unless it is offered in the applicable App Store purchase configuration.

If Apple cannot verify access, check your account and connection, then contact support with the app version and a description of the issue. Do not send your account password or full payment details. A completed purchase receipt may help investigate an access issue.

Apple administers App Store billing and its refund request process. You can request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com; eligibility depends on applicable law and Apple’s policies. These terms do not make every purchase non-refundable, waive statutory withdrawal rights, or replace remedies for defective digital content. Deleting the app or using Delete All Data does not itself request a refund.

7. Ownership of your projects and patterns

You retain the rights you already have in your project notes, original photos, and other content. We do not acquire ownership of your journal or a license to publish it merely because you store it in the app. The app does not ordinarily upload that content to us.

You are responsible for having the necessary rights or permissions to import a pattern, designer’s image, commissioned artwork, or another person’s photograph. Buying a pattern or recording a designer’s name does not automatically allow redistribution of the pattern. Respect the applicable pattern license and the rights and privacy of people depicted in photographs.

If you voluntarily send an attachment to support, you permit us to use it to respond to and investigate that request. That permission does not authorize unrelated publication, advertising use, or sale of your artwork. Keep a copy of anything important you send.

8. Local storage, deletion, and backups

Your journal is stored in the app’s local database and photo files. We do not maintain a server copy and cannot remotely retrieve a lost archive. Device replacement, loss, damage, app deletion, storage problems, an interrupted operation, or software errors can result in unavailable or lost records.

Use appropriate device or computer backups and confirm that your chosen backup includes the app data you need. Apple device backups may include local app information depending on your settings, but the app does not offer its own automatic cloud journal backup, synchronization, or a dedicated journal export feature. We do not guarantee that a third-party backup will work.

Project deletion and Settings → Delete All Data are destructive. The latter deletes projects and attempts to remove imported photos, while retaining your Photos library and appearance setting. If cleanup fails, the app reports the issue and you should retry. App offloading may retain documents; removing a local copy does not erase earlier device backups. These limits do not exclude responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Privacy and communications

The Embroidery Journal Privacy Policy, linked on this page, explains local project storage, imported photos and their possible metadata, Apple purchase processing, voluntary support correspondence, website access, and privacy rights. Read it alongside these terms. Permission to select a photo is not permission for us to publish or sell it.

Support is available by email at [email protected]. Include your device model, operating-system and app versions, and the steps that caused the issue where useful. We do not promise round-the-clock support or a fixed response time unless separately agreed. Statutory response deadlines and consumer remedies remain applicable.

10. Apple and other external services

Apple operates the App Store, StoreKit, Apple Account, operating-system photo picker, and any Apple backup services you choose to use. Website links open services outside the native journal. Those services have their own terms, availability, security, and privacy practices.

A temporary interruption in Apple’s purchase service may affect product loading, purchases, or restoration. We will address app defects within our control as required by applicable law, but cannot control independent providers’ availability. This provision does not disclaim an obligation for which we remain legally responsible.

11. Updates and changes to features

We may provide updates to fix defects, maintain compatibility, or improve the journal. Keep your operating system and app updated where appropriate, and review any material change before installing it. We do not promise a specific feature roadmap or release schedule.

Any changes to supplied digital content remain subject to applicable contract and consumer law, including obligations concerning conformity, required updates, notice, valid reasons for changes, and remedies for a material adverse change where those rules apply. A future paid product or different processing practice will be described before it is offered; a vague right to change the app is not a waiver of your purchased rights.

12. Warranties and mandatory consumer protections

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to the Apple Standard EULA, we do not promise that the app is uninterrupted, entirely error-free, suitable for every particular purpose, or compatible with every future device. Local storage cannot guarantee against every loss. You should evaluate whether the app meets your needs and preserve important originals.

Nothing in these terms excludes statutory guarantees, rights concerning conformity of digital content or services, legally required updates, refund or withdrawal rights, or remedies that cannot be waived. If applicable law gives you a right to repair or correction, price reduction, termination, or a refund, that right remains available. In particular, mandatory protections in the EEA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, or another applicable jurisdiction take precedence over conflicting disclaimers.

13. Liability

The limitations in the applicable Apple Standard EULA apply only to the extent enforceable under applicable law. These additional terms do not impose a separate dollar cap, make you responsible for every possible loss, or require you to indemnify us merely for ordinary lawful use of the journal.

No provision excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including applicable liability for fraud, intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or breach of mandatory consumer rights. Your reasonable responsibility to protect your device and maintain backups does not eliminate any non-excludable duty we owe you.

14. Ending use and discontinuation

You may stop using the app at any time. If you delete it, ensure you have preserved content you need first. License termination for a breach is governed by the applicable Apple Standard EULA and mandatory law. Stopping use does not automatically erase Apple’s purchase records, prior backups, or support correspondence that must lawfully be retained.

We do not guarantee indefinite operation of a particular version on every future operating system. Any discontinuation remains subject to existing purchase obligations and statutory remedies. We cannot remotely preserve or recover your local archive, and an end-of-support notice does not by itself extinguish your consumer rights.

15. Disputes and applicable law

For a complaint, contact [email protected] and explain the issue and the remedy requested. You may also use Apple’s purchase-support channels. Contacting support is not a compulsory prerequisite to exercising a statutory complaint or court right.

Governing-law and jurisdiction provisions in the applicable Apple Standard EULA apply to the extent relevant and enforceable. Nothing here deprives consumers of mandatory protections of their usual place of residence or a competent court or regulator available under applicable law. These additional terms do not impose binding arbitration, a class-action waiver, or an exclusive foreign court.

16. Changes, severability, and contact

These terms are effective October 4, 2026. Material changes will be published with a new date and additional notice where required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights, alter a completed purchase contrary to law, or become binding solely through silence where affirmative agreement is legally required.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply only to the extent they can lawfully operate without it. A failure to enforce a provision does not itself waive it. These app-specific terms, the applicable Apple license and purchase rules, and mandatory law should be read together.
